Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins Featured Book for June

This month’s featured book is a book that all parents of multiples have been waiting for!  Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins is the only book dedicated to the unique sleep challenges that twins and multiples face.  The book includes a step-by-step sleep training program that will get your twins on a healthy sleep schedule.  When your twins get the right amount of sleep at the right times, they’ll be happy and so will you.

Author Marc Weissbluth, M.D. is no stranger to children’s sleep patterns and programs.  He is also the author of the bestselling book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy ChildTo say that I’m excited for his new book is an understatement.  I am a huge fan of Dr. Weissbluth’s earlier book and was lucky enough to have read it well before my twins came along.  I still reference it whenever a sleep issue with my twins pop up.

Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins is currently available as a pre-order.  We will start shipping copies when published on June 9, 2009.  Order yours today and get some happy twins!

It’s Dora The Explorer Month!

It started innocently enough, as most obsessions do.  My mother-in-law bought my twin daughter, Audrey, a Dora the Explorer hat at the beginning of winter.  Neither one of my twins had ever watched Dora’s show before, but my daughter took an instant liking to the hat.

During the ice storm in December when we lost our power (and heat) for 2 days, Audrey wore her hat non-stop.  It gave her warmth and a sense of safety during this stressful time.  Even when the power was restored, she refused to take it off except for sleeping and bathing.  For three months, she wore her Dora hat inside and outside, it didn’t matter.

Finally, in March I thought maybe the twins would like to watch Dora’s show.  Well, all it took was for them to watch one show to be completely hooked on Dora.  And, to my wonderful surprise Dora has younger twin siblings

So, in honor of the enjoyment that Dora gives my twins (and the comfort she provided during our power outage), this month is Dora the Explorer month at Double Up Books.  You’ll find below just some of the books that we carry that feature Dora and her twins.

Oh, and before I forget, I thought you’d like to see a picture of Audrey’s dora hat!

Ready or Not…Here We Come! Featured Book Jan 09

If you have twins and haven’t read Elizabeth Lyon’s Ready or Not…Here We Come!, you’ve got to check out our featured book for January 2009, especially if you are currently pregnant with twins or have newborns.  You’ll laugh in recognition as Elizabeth shares her stories about raising her twin boys.

But this book isn’t just a fun book, it’s filled with practical shortcuts, real-world strategies, and sage advice.  It was actually one of the first books I read when I found out I was pregnant with twins and I learned a great deal about what I had in store for us as well as help me to set the right attitude.

If you enjoy this book, Elizabeth also has a sequel called Ready or Not…There We Go! about raising her twin toddler boys.  I highly recommend this book as well.

We sell Twice Upon a Time as a set of 2 books so that you can capture each twin individually.  It’s loaded full of cute illustrations and it is easy to fill in the details.  Much of the work is already done for busy parents, with lots of “check-the-box” options and fill-in the blanks.   What is also nice is that each child will have a record of their twin’s information as well when they grow up and receive the book.
